Sophie Camburn
Sophie is a Director in Arup’s Bristol office, where she leads the Advisory and Planning business across Wales and the Southwest of England. She advises local government and private sector clients on a wide range of topics, including mixed-use masterplanning and design, housing, mobility and sustainable development. Passionate about making inclusive places that embed the UNSDGs at their core, Sophie is an advocate of social value as an outcome of meaningful stakeholder engagement and design integration to deliver resilience and delight to communities.
Sophie has more than 20 years’ experience in creating designs that deliver benefits for people, places and the environment, and brings an understanding of social, economic and spatial aspects to her work. From regeneration to masterplanning, Sophie has led complex, multi-disciplinary project with transport investment as a catalyst for wider regeneration, including Tottenham Regeneration strategy and Cardiff Parkway/ Hendre Lakes.
Sophie is a qualified architect and member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA). She studied at St John’s College, Cambridge and London School of Social and Political Sciences.
