Robyn MacNamara
Robyn MacNamara has built a career focused on railway electrification and decarbonisation in Network Rail. Between 2016 and 2021 she led a number of integration projects associated with the Great Western Main Line Electrification, in particular leading maintenance development and integration in Wales as part of the first railway electrification scheme in the country.
Since 2022, Robyn has been Programme Manager for the Regional Electrification and Fixed Plant Engineering and Asset Management Team in Wales and Western Region. In this role, she leads electrical safety innovation and development as part of the Network Rail National Electrical Safety Delivery Programme and has managed the introduction of the regional Optimised Earthing innovation, the most significant change in electrical safety practices for overhead line work in forty years.
Robyn leads the programme management of integrated power system development and innovations to provide renewable energy integration into railway traction systems.
Robyn is also an active champion for increased diversity in railway and power technology engineering.
