Rachel Evans

Rachel leads Sustainable Transport Integration in the Atkins Consultancy business. Her 22 year career in Transport Planning has seen her taking roles as Stakeholder Engagement Manager at the West Midlands Rail Executive and as lead on West Midlands Trains’ pioneering Stations as Places programme. Rachel is passionate about the transport industry taking a ‘total transport’ and ‘every customer journey matters’ approach. She has thereby delivered Station Travel Plans for two major rail operators which consider ‘first and last mile’ journeys to stations and maximise the role of the railway in the local community. Rachel is championing the ‘Getting Home Safely’ initiative to ensure safe by design for women in walking journeys to transport interchanges.
