
Graeme Clark
Graeme is a highly respected railway engineer with an impressive 44-year career dedicated to shaping the industry. His journey began at British Rail, where he was sponsored to complete a Mechanical Engineering Degree at the University of Bath, gaining foundational experience at Shields Depot, including work on the pioneering Advanced Passenger Train.
After graduating, Graeme played a key role in the service introduction of the Class 90 Electric Locomotives at British Rail Engineering. His expertise quickly led to international roles, supporting sales for ABB Metro across Asia and South America. As UK Sales Manager for Metro Cammell, he was instrumental in securing major bids, notably the iconic Pendolino trainsets for Virgin West Coast. He continued to drive innovation as Metros Business Product Director at Adtranz/Bombardier, overseeing projects globally.
For the past 14 years, Graeme has been a driving force at Siemens, currently serving as Head of Business Development for Rolling Stock in the UK and Ireland. In this strategic role, he leads early customer engagement, ensuring Siemens’ platforms meet evolving market needs. His significant contributions include deep involvement in the development of the Deep Tube Trains for London Underground and spearheading the Desiro Verve Project from its inception.
A Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of The Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Graeme actively contributes to the industry, currently serving on the Railway Division Board.
