David Harkin

David joined Network Rail in 2022, taking on the new Weather Resilience and Climate Change Adaptation Strategy Manager role. His responsibilities include overseeing the development of Scotland’s Railway Climate Ready Plan, providing support and guidance across the business in undertaking climate risk assessments and soon developing a longer-term climate change adaptation strategy for Scotland’s railway. Previously, David held the Climate Change Scientist role at Historic Environment Scotland where he developed the first climate risk assessment of their estate of nationally significant historic monuments and the organisations first climate change adaptation plan.
