Brian Ham
Originally a town planner, I have been championing the ESG agenda for longer than I care to remember, in senior roles in the public, private and third sectors. I now run a company which is specialising in the development of NZC affordable homes.
Highlights include;
• The pioneering ‘Powersave’ initiative in the early 90’s, utilising European Regional Development Funds on Merseyside to make energy saving investments in manufacturing businesses, with financial returns taken from hypothecated power bills.
• Procurement of electric hybrid buses in the late 90’s on Tyneside.
• Development of highly energy efficient timber-frame care homes nationally.
• Development of Gateshead Innovation Village in 2018, pioneering the use of innovative MMC and green technologies for the housing of the future.
Most recently I’ve been leading a private financial initiative to retrofit poor quality social housing stock to Net Zero Carbon standard, and we’re currently identifying a suitable pilot scheme of 200-300 homes, backed by a global fund manager.
