Alison Thompson

Alison Thompson has enjoyed working as an engineer in the rail industry for over 34 years. This time has been spent largely in the Wales and Borders and Western regions of the rail network but she has also spent some time in the Midlands and significant time working on London Underground infrastructure. She is currently working as Infrastructure Management Director for Amey for the Core Valleys Lines but previous roles have included Head of Buildings & Structures for Network Rail Wales & Western region and Chief Operating Officer for Network Rail Wales Route. She is fortunate to have worked across the railway system in maintenance, projects, planning, design and assurance roles and enjoys using her different experiences to work with others to focus on improving the safe and efficient delivery and operation of railway infrastructure to provide the best for railway users.
