Alex Fortune

Alex has 25 years experience in Rail planning, strategy and policy both in the UK and overseas. He has worked in both the private and public sectors and on major projects such as Franchise advice to DfT, High Speed 2, Thameslink and Stratford (London) station upgrade.

In TfW Alex is part of the North Wales team developing rail projects and providing strategic advice on the railway industry for the team. Collaborate joint working is key to this and Alex has represented TfW at several industry and stakeholder events, ensuring the Welsh voice is heard in national debate, staying abreast with policy guidelines, authoring and submitting funding bids to UK Government. Previously he was a Sponsor ensuring planned upgrades and aspirations fit into the wider rail context and policy framework laid down from Welsh Government and Network Rail, are future proofed and provide best value.
