Martin Hawley

Martin joined SPL Powerlines UK in 2012 as Managing Director.  During this time, Martin led the successful NEP framework bid with Carillion in 2014, to secure £1billion of new Electrification works within the UK , and was a founding Director of CPL.  Prior to joining SPL Powerlines UK, Martin was Managing Director of Volker Rail from 2005 to 2010, where under his executive leadership,  Network Rail’s national delivery service team awarded VolkerRail a seven-year framework contract for the supply of 11 on-track machines under the “National On-Track Machine Contract”, along with numerous infrastructure projects.

Martin holds a degree in engineering, which has provided a strong understanding of the business requirements of the manufacturing, engineering, and infrastructure sectors. Martin has utilised this understanding to build effective partnerships within rail infrastructure, drive improvements in safety and champion innovative engineering processes and diversity and inclusion in the sector, while holding projects accountable to safety, commercial and delighting the customer.

Martin is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
